Since the start of the academic year, 20 Y8 pupils were selected to participate in the ‘boys breakthrough project’. The scheme provided the opportunity for the pupils involved to challenge themselves further in lessons. Throughout the programme, teachers have commented on how much more engaged the pupils have been and even requesting positions of responsibility within the classroom. As a result, all pupils involved have improved their behaviour for learning and in some lessons, are making outstanding progress.
The reward for excellent participation was a trip to Deeside karting and taking part in a 2x15 minute high adrenaline track experience. All pupils represented the school in the highest regard and had a fantastic morning.
