Year 7 pupils have been looking at Indian Art and the history of paisley patterns and in order to enrich their understanding and knowledge of this topic, Art Ambassadors have recently been been given the opportunity to attend a workshop at the Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool.
Prior to the workshop pupils were given a guided tour of the latest exhibition in the Gallery entitled, 'Slaves of Fashion: New Works by The Singh Twins.'
Pupils loved the work of the twins and were fascinated by the history of Indian textiles and how the Singh Twins had linked it to the issues in the world today.
After the exhibition pupils worked alongside artists from the museum to find out more about paisley and used the motif and different mixed media to create their own hanging mobiles.
The Art Ambassadors will then share their skills with local Primary Schools during the Summer Primary Arts Festival.
