Friday 11th November at 11am Woodchurch High School remembered those who have fallen in all conflicts. The school stood still and held a two minute silence. Those pupils in the cadet forces paraded, not in school blazers but, in their cadet uniform. Proudly standing on parade, to attention and representing the respective civil or armed services. This year we were also representing the Scouts and Girl Guides. After the parade we listened to L/Cpl George Beckett (Army Cadet & Year 11 pupil) play a verse of Amazing Grace on the bagpipes. The poem 'Anthem for Doomed Youth' by Wilfred Owen was well-read by the Tom (Head boy), Tom and Lee.
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them. We will remember them.
