In March 2016, a group of our Year 10 pupils travelled to Poland to visit Auschwitz and to witness for themselves the horrific effects of extreme prejudice and discrimination. Pupils were able to visit Auschwitz 1 and Birkenau in a full-day guided tour, as well as visit many other infamous sights that Poland has to offer, e.g. the Salt Mines.
In addition to the support and knowledge gained for their upcoming GCSEs, pupils were also able to reflect on their own lives, their own actions and their specific roles within our community. This experience will travel with our pupils throughout their entire lives, and serve as a constant reminder of what it truly means to "love thy neighbour" and put our Christian Values into practice.
