On Monday 21 March one of the Year 9 GCSE Health and Social Care groups was pleased to welcome Vicky Peat to their lesson. Vicky is a trainee nurse, a parent of two Woodchurch High School pupils and a volunteer for Dementia Friends.
Vicky ran a very interesting session for the group, raising their awareness and understanding of dementia. As well as a presentation and video, pupils played bingo and a game of ‘”Who is right?” At the end of the session, the pupils made pledges, were given badges and became Dementia Friends. We would like to thank Vicky for giving up her time to help our pupils to develop their understanding of later adulthood and how dementia affects people’s lives.
