Mayor Meeting

On 3rd November Woodchurch High School was pleased to welcome the Mayor of Wirral, Cllr Les Rowlands to school. Cllr Rowlands had asked to meet our school s Interact Team (the school-charity team).

The meeting was chaired by Scott, and we had reports from the treasurer, a Year 8 rep about the Archbishop of York Young Leaders Award and an opening thought from Mrs Farrell from our chaplaincy team.

During the meeting we were able to interview the Mayor about his life and the three charities that he is supporting this year:

  • The Wirral Branch of the Alzheimer s Society (we donated 200 to the national organisation last year),
  • The Clatterbridge League of Friends
  • North West Air Ambulance

As our non-uniform day is approaching, we wanted to find out about his charities to consider how we can best support them with the money raised. We were also really pleased to find that Wallesey is likely to be the new home for the North West Air Ambulance meaning that there can be faster response times to those who need it.

During the meeting we also had a presentation from the Royden Revolve Rotary Club, and had Mr Niccol from Birkenhead Rotary Club join us again.

Below are some photographs taken during the meeting.
