On Sunday 17th May the PE Dept took 35 Year 8 and 9 pupils to Italy on a Football tour.
On the first day of the tour, the boys visited the San Siro Stadium, where they looked around both AC Milan and Inter Milan s changing rooms and stepped onto the pitch. A walk around the beautiful City of Milan followed.
The second day was all about Football, with a two hour training session in the morning and two matches in the evening against local team FC Scaligera. The Year 8 s won a close match 2-0, and the Year 9 team with a comfortable 6-1 win. On the third day the pupils had another 2 hour training session, and then visited the wonderful city of Verona. The pupils enjoyed a walk around the Verona amphitheatre, and also visited Juliette s balcony. Some pupils rubbed a certain part of Juliette s anatomy to be lucky in love for life! On the third evening was both teams second match against strong opposition Opeana FC. The Year 8 team unfortunately lost 5-0 against a very strong and powerful team and the Year 9 team won 3-2!
A fantastic time had by all and a great experience for all the boys. Many thanks to Mr Smith and Mr Joplin for their help.
