DRAMA

We now teach Drama in years seven and eight. Pupils get one lesson a week of either Drama or Music on a six week rotation. It has been great to see the pupils gain in confidence in the subject. In year seven pupils have been learning about basic drama skills and have been learning about different forms of storytelling from around the world. In the pictures the pupils are enacting traditional Indian folk stories.

Our year eight pupils studies World War One in the first half term and are now looking at Physical Theatre. Here they are acting out different objects and one very special mythical creature. Can you guess what they are doing?

Pupils from all year groups have been working together to produce pantomimes for our feeder school in our imaginatively named Pantomime club after school on a Thursday. Here our pupils are busy rehearsing.

We have also been continuing our work with the Liverpool Institute for the Performing Arts. A Professional actor and singing a coach have been helping out with lower school, GCSE groups, with our pantomime project and as you can see below our upcoming school production “Little Shop of Horrors”.

Talking of the school show tickets for “Little Shop of Horrors will be on sale in February for the performances on the 11th 12th and 13th March 2015.

And talking of LIPA we took 50 students from years seven to Eleven for a tour of the facilities at LIPA, they also took part in a singing workshop and watched the show “How to Get Ahead in Business”.
