This term Katherine Culshaw from Living Streets has been into school to speak to Year 7, 8 and 9 pupils in assemblies. Living Streets is an organisation that encourages more young people to walk to school. Before and after Katherine’s assemblies pupils completed surveys about how they get to school, and in the assembly Katherine explained some of the health and environmental advantages of walking to school. She also encouraged pupils who come to school by car to get dropped off some distance away, and then walk the rest- ‘ride and stride’.
There was a prize draw for all those who walked during a particular week, and the lucky winner received 50 of Love To Shop vouchers. The Year 8 winner was Lewis.
