DISABILITY NEWS

We had a bid accepted with sport England, which was headed up by the Greenbank Project at Greenbank Sports Academy in Liverpool funding initially a three year project to have the school as the HUB site for disability sport for the Wirral. There are 5 other authorities in the north west of the England, who also have the same site at the chosen centre in St Helens, Liverpool, Halton, Knowsley and Sefton.

The funding has paid for specialist sports chairs and equipment, and funding to run a centre offering opportunities for children aged 11 upwards to access sporting opportunities. The Woodchurch centre runs out of the school sports centre on a Sunday morning from 9 12 for any children on the Wirral who have any disabilities. Anyone interested or for further information please get in contact with Gareth Simpson at the school.
