Woodchurch High was pleased to welcome the members of the Birkenhead Rotary Club for our Aspirational Careers Workshop on 14th November this year. This was the second workshop we had arranged and this year was more focussed on the pupils we felt needed to hear the messages about business and life that these professionals could bring.
It was pleasing to see that our pupils were extremely positive in their evaluations. A few of the comments written were:
“I was really glad I could talk about what career paths I was interested in”
“I was really pleased to in find out more details about Apprenticeships and how to advance through a job”
“I was pleased to hear that people can be successful without always going to university”
“It was good to know what ‘drive’ was needed and how it was important to live for your dreams”
“I liked learning about drama and the theatre as it changed by views about it”
The professionals from the Rotary shared with the pupils what made a good employee and the realties of life that awaits pupils when they leave from Woodchurch and our pupils clearly had a lot to go away and think about. They found it thought provoking and gave them the opportunity to reflect on some of our Christian values that we try to instil in them of both tenacity and endurance.
It was lovely to share the day with so many supporters of Woodchurch High School and I know our pupils really both appreciated and valued the time that they were given.
