On Wednesday 22nd October twenty Year 11 pupils who take BTEC Health and Social Care visited Wirral Metropolitan College for taster sessions related to their course. Firstly they did a Childcare session when they learnt about the skin care of babies, finding out how to ‘top and tail’ a baby. The second taster session was for Health and Social Care, when the pupils learnt about the correct method of hand washing. They used light boxes and a special gel to see the bacteria on their hands - not a pretty sight!
The pupils and staff all really enjoyed their visit. Some comments included:
I thought it was great going to the college because it was a great experience and I learned a lot when I was there.
I found the trip very interesting and found out new things. I’m thinking of going to Wirral Met.
