We have recently concluded our annual Harvest collection where over 75 bags full of food donations were given to both Wirral Foodbank and Charles Thompson Mission, Birkenhead. Wirral Foodbank was suggested to us by the Mayor of Wirral, Cllr Steve Foulkes as one of his special-appeal charities on one of his recent visits. The school was pleased to support this charity as we know of the excellent work that it does. Charles Thompson Mission is also an important charity in the life of Birkenhead for over a century and their mission is to help anyone in need and tell the of the love of God which perfectly fits in with our efforts for Social Enterprise focussed on the Bible quote “And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased”.
We were also pleased to have worked with the Woodchurch branch of Asda they donated enough bags for life for each of our form groups to fill and some of the forms needed two or three! Our school choir will be going to Asda nearer Christmas to help them raise money for their charity ‘Tickled Pink’.
We were also pleased that the Rotary Club of Birkenhead donated their harvest collection to the school. Over the last few weeks they had collected harvest bags and donated them to school before the two organisations came to collect them.
We were thrilled to half fill both a transit van and a minibus with our donations and would like to thank all our parents and carers, pupils, members of the Birkenhead Rotary Club and Asda in their assistance in helping us help so many people around Wirral.
