Woodchurch High School recently celebrated Fair Trade Fortnight with a number of different events. Pupils learnt about Fair Trade in lessons and sold Fair Trade hot chocolate to raise money for charity. The Go4Green Committee held an assembly for all Eco Reps about the supply chain of a banana. It involved a role play with a shopper, banana farmer, exporter, importer, ripener and shopkeeper and showed pupils how little money actually goes to the farmer.

Buying Fair Trade goods increases that amount and helps to improve living conditions for farmers and their families in less-economically developed countries. It s a way of tackling global poverty so please buy Fair Trade when you can.
