Last Friday it was an absolute pleasure to visit Woodchurch High School along with the Secretary of State for Education, The Rt Honourable Michael Gove MP.

The Secretary of State met with teachers, Governors and students to talk about the issues that matter most to them. While there Mr Gove called into a Spanish lesson which he thought was ‘Fantastico’ and also into a science lesson were the students were dissecting a heart to learn how the heart makes the body work. While there he also learned how the Governments very successful Pupil Premium scheme allowed the school to offer many out of hours schemes including summer school.

Woodchurch High School which has become an academy is a really progressive school and it’s clear that the Head, Rebekkah Phillips along with her team of teachers are absolutely committed to giving the very best education, as are all schools in Wirral to those pupils who attend.
