Friday 23rd August 2019

Woodchurch High School was pleased to welcome the Vice Lord Lieutenant, the Mayor and representatives of the Rotary Club of Birkenhead including the Distinct Governor on Friday 24th January to celebrate and inaugurate our school s Interact team. This was our Formal Assembly and Collective act of Worship for the day. Georgia (Y8) shared the Bible reading with us, and by the Reverend Mark Montgomery, the Diocese of Chester s Youth Advisor helped explain it. Rev Anne Davies and the chaplaincy team also lead our prayers. Laruen and Dan read a moving poem about how we often think that sharing status on Facebook is sufficient in helping others. Sam and Jess also performed for us, receiving high compliments from our guests.

As a school, we have always had a strong tradition of supporting others, as we try to reflect Jesus teaching when He said 'Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.' We believe that in helping others we are doing what we are called to do. So far this year we have raised over 3000 for charities which shows our pupils, parents and staffs generosity for others, so thank you for your support.

During the celebration service our schools charity reps, which make up the Interact team, were formally given lapel badges and membership cards. In addition the President of the committee, Lauren, was given her Presidential Chain.

Below are some photographs taken from this celebratory event.
