The gardening club organised a competition for Year 8 to come up with a design for a commemorative garden as 2014 is the centenary of the beginning of World War 1, which they will be studying after Easter.

The garden design will be outside near the farm area for everyone to see. The ground will be prepared by staff and people from the community ready to be planted between April and May. This has been possible through funding made available for a wellbeing gardening course which starts Saturday 25th January, 9.30 till 12pm.

We would like to invite parents to come and join us who would like to be involved with this project. Please e-mail Ms Hackett at the school.

We had several entries to the competion and a big thank you to all who participated.

Congratulations to Craig 8XW who had the winning design. Also, congratulations to Steven 8XW and Eve 8XV who will have part of their design incorporated into the winning garden.

Keep watching the website for World War One garden updates.
