Thursday 26 September 2013, saw our Awards Evening Celebrations. Pupils from the current Year 8 11, who had been nominated for awards across a whole range of curriculum subjects attended, along with their parents and carers. The awards celebrated and recognised their achievements both for attainment and effort. In addition, some pupils were also awarded Sporting Colours, for their successes in PE.

There were a number of special ‘Headteachers’ Awards’ for Eco, the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme and for being a ‘Good Citizen’. The Mark McNee Award for Sport and the Len Stirzaker Award for Science were also presented.

The Headteacher commended the pupils who attended for their excellent work over the past year and recognised what a tremendous year for the school it had been with the Year 11 cohort who had just left achieving our highest ever 5 A*-C results including English and Maths.

The school was delighted to welcome Ms. Julia Hassall, Director of Children’s Services, who presented the awards.

Special mention must go to Olivia and Evan for their performance of ‘What is this feeling’ from the musical ‘Wicked’.
