Monday 8 July 2013 saw the first Careers Convention run by school in a number of years. Over 50 employers / training providers attended the event, which began at 2.00pm. All Year 10 pupils had to chance to visit the stalls between 2.00-3.00pm, and then come back in the evening with their parents /carers. Year 9 pupils and parents were also invited to attend in the evening.
The event was a tremendous success and huge thanks to go to all the employers / post-16 providers who gave so freely of their time to support our pupils in their post-16 decision-making processes.
The Brookwood Partnership, provided an array of delicious complimentary refreshments and food throughout the evening. A special thanks go to them and all their team for their hard work.
Feedback from employers about the event has been superb, below is an example:
Dear Mr Bannon
I attended the careers fair today from The Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA) and had to email to say what a fantastic experience it was.
From entering the school I was greeted by very friendly staff who were so welcoming. The careers team organising and coordinating the event were fantastic. The whole thing was a breeze from start to finish. The pupils who I spoke to were all very polite and keen. The food in the cafe area was absolutely delicious and the staff there were also so helpful and polite. Everybody there seemed so refreshingly approachable. It really was such an enjoyable experience that I had to email to tell you.
I chatted to many other of the careers teams who also shared many of these feelings.
Thank You for a lovely day.
