We have recently taken some year 9 girls to a Robotics challenge day as part of STEM (Engineering) and women in engineering day. The girls Demi Lee, Chloe, Paige and Bethany (Yr 8) came second in the challenge at in Deyes High School in Merseyside.
The four girls that went to this challenge excelled not only in behaviour but demonstrated a very high ability of independent learning and problem solving skills. They were up against 12 other schools only to be beaten by 1 second in the final.
These pupils have only had theory sessions on robotics with me but demonstrated that they can build, program and wire up a robot to carry out tasks and commands.
