On Friday 7th December 8XS held a Christmas coffee morning at Holy Cross Church hall for members of the local community. The event was part of their Archbishop of York Award that Year 8 are working towards this year. The award aims to enable young people to make a positive difference within their communities.

The morning was a huge success and was attended by over 30 members of the local community who enjoyed a selection of mince pies, home-made cakes, tea, coffee and some festive music from the school choir. Those who attended also received a lovely home-made Christmas card that Ellie had produced especially for the occasion.

All members of 8XS contributed to the event – from serving food and drink to washing the dishes - and were excellent ambassadors for the school receiving many compliments from members of the local community about their outstanding behaviour, friendliness and good manners.

The form would like to say a big ‘thank you’ to Miss Bolister and Miss Carne (ITT pupil) who came along and gave a helping hand to Miss Cuthbertson and 8XS and to Mr Steels and the school choir who helped to make the morning such a successful and enjoyable event.
