We were delighted recently to receive a letter from British Council congratulating us on achieving the International School Award for the second time. Woodchurch High School gained its first International School Award in 2009 and recently submitted a self evaluation about the many international activities and events that are embedded across the curriculum in every single subject area.

Some creative and innovative examples of our international ethos include Asian and African art, many genres of music from a wide range of countries, Disasters and Dilemmas work in Year 7 Humanities, Year 9 Citizenship work on Global Issues, History on the Transatlantic Slave Trade, Geography on the impact on tourism, PE and Maths work on the Olympics and Paralympics and RE work on the Civil Rights movement in the USA.

The British Council has commended us for gaining the International School Award for the next 3 years, and we look forward to building on our excellent international dimension.

Congratulations to everyone involved.
