Year Seven had a special visitor for their assembly on 8th May. Danny Holmes, a professional footballer with Tranmere Rovers came in to present awards to pupils who had raised lots of money on the Race For Life Day which took place on 30th March.

Danny is an ex pupil (left in 2005) and a local lad who still lives on the Woodchurch Estate. He was very impressed with the new building and how well behaved everybody was in assembly. A lot of pupils recognised him and were very excited he was able to attend. The assembly started off with a short presentation about Danny and the qualities he has showed over the years to enable him to be a professional footballer. He then presented certificates to 24 pupils who had been identified by their Form Tutors as having made a special effort when fundraising for Race For Life. Danny has also promised to come and support the Year 7 Football team in their Wirral Cup Final at Tranmere Rovers on 15th May and will come in to do some coaching sessions next year.
