WIRRAL YOUTH THEATRE

The Drama departments has been very busy this term with Drama workshops. Year 9 and 10 Drama pupils were treated to a visit from ‘Wirral Youth Theatre’ who gave us a workshop on ‘Long form improvisation’. The pupils had great fun experiencing this and were of left with lots of ideas for their own devised GCSE performances.

Year 11 Drama pupils visited ‘The Floral Pavilion’ New Brighton to see a production of ‘Blood Brothers and Whitby Hall studios, Ellesmere Port to see a production of ’12 miles from Nowhere’. Both were extremely enjoyable performances.

Year 9 were also visited Whitby Hall Studio Theatre to see a production of the highly initially acclaimed ‘Bound’ by the ‘Beer Trap’ Theatre Company who have just completed a sell out London run. ‘Bound’ received five-sat reviews and Mote award nomination.

Three Year 11 pupils Rose, Nicole, and Olivia also took part in the ‘Off by Heart’ Shakespeare Festival which was run by the ‘Lowry Theatre’ In Manchester. The pupils found this a very enriching experience.
