"IN FAIR VERONA WHERE WE LAY OUR SCENE..."

Since returning in January, Year 8 pupils have been sampling Media and Drama schemes of work as potential Option choices for next year.

Miss Barney’s class have been looking at the Shakespearian tragedy, ‘Romeo and Juliet’.

Initially wary of the challenging language, the all male class have enjoyed being able to interpret Shakespeare’s scenes in their own special way. The boys were given Act 1 Scene 1 to rehearse in groups and perform as a class and as you can see from the photographs they really got the feel for the tension and conflict between the warring Verona families: Capulet and Montague. Special mention goes to Lord Montz’ (Connor), Lord Capz’ (Ollie), and Prince Escalus (Keelan), for preventing the “new mutiny” from spilling out onto the streets of Italy.
