Pupils on the Go4Green Committee have been very busy recently. On Wednesday Lynn Struve and Marion Jackson from Wirral Council came to meet with them. They spoke to Eco Schools Officer Lynn about their plans for using the £1000 eco grant to improve composting facilities or cover over more of the bike racks. Energy Officer Marion brought good news in terms of the school’s first energy rating on its new Display energy Certificate being in category C.
The rating was only 6 marks off the B, which is extremely good and is due to the environmentally friendly design of our new school. Next year, however, with more energy-saving strategies in place our target will be category B, a rating only currently achieved by one building in Wirral. We are also delighted to have been chosen to host the Wirral Schools Eco Convention July.
