On Monday 31 October a BTEC Health and Social Care group and a Diploma in Society Health and Development group visited Dale Farm in Heswall. Dale Farm is a day centre run by Wirral Council Adult Social Care Department for adults with learning disabilities. The clients usually go for one or two days a week where they grow a range of organic fruit and vegetables that are sold to local shops and restaurants as well as being used to make tasty lunches, jams and other products. There are also bee hives resulting in delicious honey. Pupils were impressed with the way everyone is treated as an individual needs and encouraged to do the best they can. Thanks go to John and Mike for showing us round and helping us learn more about disability.
