The High Sheriff of Merseyside, Professor Helen Carty visited Woodchurch High School last week to present awards to pupils who had demonstrated excellent progress over the last academic year. Professor was extremely impressed with the pupils and the work they do. Amongst those to achieve awards were Jago, who achieved the Len Stirzaker Award for Science and Lauren who achieved the Good Citizen Award. Music was provided by Ellie, who sang ‘On my Own’ from ‘Les Miserables’ and Connor and Steve, who performed ‘Looking out for Love’ by Fleetwood Mac.

This was not the only high profile visitor to the school. Last March, the new £25 million building was officially opened by the Archbishop of York. Headteacher Rebekah Phillips said, ‘Our new facilities are second to none and pupils.
