Awards

We believe external awards are vital to driving school improvement, not least as they enable school to reflect upon current practice and be assessed by various outside agencies. Current awards we hold include:

Award Being a High Performing Specialist School, Woodchurch was awarded 'Training School' status in April 2009.
Award Careers Library Standard Award – the impact of which has been to review current practice, create a section on the VLE and put forward two staff for training on the CEG Diploma.
Award UNESCO Associated Schools in the UK is part of a global network of schools promoting quality education
Award Recognition of Quality Awards: WRLEE and Work Experience – the impact of which has been to review all current practice and build upon statutory guidance.
Award National Healthy Schools Award – the impact of which has been to promote the adopting of healthy lifestyle choices in our pupils and staff.
Award Silver Eco School Award – the impact of which has been to reduce energy consumption in school and raise awareness of ‘green’ / environmental issues
Award Investors in People – the impact of which has been to review all our CPD Policies and procedures.
Award Woodchurch is a Specialist Engineering College.

Award Mersey Partnership SEN Award – the impact of which has been to further develop and improve our inclusion / SEN practices.
Award International Schools Award – the impact of which has been to develop pupils cultural awareness and understanding.
Award North West Regional Special Educational Needs Award – the impact of which has been to further develop and improve our inclusion / SEN practices.

School is a part of the International Networking for Educational Transformation.

Award Woodchurch was once again recognised as being 'outstanding' by Ofsted in 2009, as well as in 1999, 2005 and 2008.
Award Positive about Disabled People Recognition – the impact of which has been to extend our inclusive practices across the whole school workforce.
Award IiP Work-Life Balance – the impact of which has been to restructure our practices around the remodelling agenda.
Award FMSiS Award – the impact of which has been to ensure compliance with financial procedures and the appropriate use of public funds.
Award FA Charter Standard for Schools – the impact of this award has been to increase participation rates amongst pupils in PE, especially football.
Award Community Rugby Development School Award – the impact of which has been improved training and coaching facilities, resulting in greater success in local and regional ‘Emerging Schools’ competitions.
Award Wirral School Environmental Award – the impact of this award has been a significant reduction in waste from school sent to landfill.
Award Careers Education & Guidance Quality Award – the impact of which has been to review current practice, create a section on the VLE and put forward two staff fro training on the CEG Diploma.
Award Wirral Inclusion Award – the impact of which has been to further develop and improve our inclusion / SEN practices.
Award Aiming High 4 Children – the impact of this award has been to develop our extended school services, notably the Homework Club and After-School Club.
Award Sure Start Award – the impact of this award has been to develop our extended school services, notably the Homework Club and After-School Club.
Award School was awarded the Basic Skills Mark which recognised the contribution school makes to improving levels of literacy, numeracy and ICT amongst its pupils.
Award IiP Leadership & Management – the impact of which has been to build capacity in the Leadership Team.
Award Awarded because of our ‘outstanding’ commitment to CPD and staff development.  We were awarded 100% in the assessment and no significant areas for development were highlighted.
Award Awarded in recognition of our commitment to and provision of Extended Services.
